David Kostmayer

David Kostmayer is a partner of Gunter Barrett & Kostmayer, located in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He is dedicated to helping clients make intelligent financial decisions and minimizing their income tax liability. David has a successful history in the public accounting arena, providing traditional accounting, tax and business consulting services to privately held companies throughout the past 16 years. The scope of his experience also includes expertise in corporate finance and strategic consulting, mergers and acquisitions, valuations services, and multi-state taxation.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, David received his credentials as a Certified Valuations Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and as a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CMA&A) from the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors. His additional training and accreditations enhance the close working relationships he develops with business owners and managers.

David’s expertise is also recognized by the academic community. In association with Loyola University in Chicago and  the Alliance of Mergers and Acquisition Advisors, David is an adjunct professor responsible for lecturing and maintaining course content for the tax section of the Certified Mergers and Acquisition Advisor Credentialing Program.

David received his Bachelors of Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Master of Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama. He supports both the academic and athletic programs of both universities.

In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his wife, Sharon, and their children. Within the Charlotte community he is actively involved in the civic organizations such as:
